iDash Privacy Policy

Summary: iDash processes all data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. No data ever leaves your iPhone.

1. Information We Collect

iDash accesses the following device capabilities to provide its core functionality:

Location Data — GPS coordinates, speed, heading, and altitude are used to display real-time telemetry on your dashboard and to record trip data when you choose to start a recording.
Motion Data — Accelerometer readings are used to calculate and display g-force measurements.

All of this data is processed entirely on your device. None of it is transmitted to us or any third party.

2. Data Storage

iDash stores the following data locally on your device:

Trip Recordings — When you record a trip, GPS samples (coordinates, speed, altitude, heading, and timestamps) are saved to your device's local storage. Trip files are encrypted using iOS Complete File Protection and are only accessible when your device is unlocked.
User Preferences — Your settings (units, theme selections, display preferences) are stored in the app's local preferences.

You can delete any trip recording at any time from within the app. Deleting the app removes all stored data.

3. Data Sharing

iDash does not:

Transmit any data to external servers
Include any analytics, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs
Share data with third parties
Display advertisements
Use cookies or web tracking

When you use the Export feature, trip data is shared only through the iOS share sheet to a destination you choose (e.g., Files, AirDrop, email). iDash does not control or access the data after you share it.

4. Third-Party Services

iDash uses Apple MapKit to display maps and calculate navigation routes. Map tile requests are handled directly by Apple's servers and are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. iDash does not operate any intermediary servers.

5. Children's Privacy

iDash does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. The app does not require account creation or collect any personal information.

6. Your Rights

Since all data remains on your device, you have full control over it at all times:

Access: View your trip recordings within the app.
Export: Export trips as GPX or CSV files.
Delete: Delete individual trips or uninstall the app to remove all data.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
